Summer BreakSpot Provides Healthy Meals to Children in Levy County

FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE

Summer BreakSpot Provides Healthy Meals to Children in Levy County

We Are Recruiting Sites to Offer Free Food to Children in Communities Throughout Levy County

Children who depend on breakfast and lunch during the school year often miss out on nutritious meals
during the summer break. Your support as a community partner can help bridge the nutrition gap by
providing free meals to kids and teens 18 and younger so they can avoid hunger and return to school
healthy, happy and ready to learn.

Through Summer BreakSpot, a federally funded program, community partners with an eligible program
site, including - nonprofit organizations, schools, churches, day camps, local governments and more –
can help provide nutritious meals to children in our communities at no cost.

The School Board of Levy County (SBLC) will be offering free breakfast and lunch meals to eligible
program sites Monday, June 1st, through Friday, July 31st. Site locations and times may vary
depending on participation.

Are you interested in operating an eligible program site? Applications for meals at no cost may be
obtained by calling the office of the SBLC Food & Nutrition Services at (352) 486-5244, Monday
through Friday, 8 am – 2 pm.

Supervisors operating an eligible program site are required to attend a 2-hour training course offered in
the School Board Administrative Multipurpose room:
540 Marshburn Drive, Bronson FL 32621
Thursday, March 12 th from 2 pm to 4 pm
